Neither Do I Condemn Thee, Study Two
John 8:1-11,
Of what were they convicted? From the context, I believe they all knew her. And Lev.20:10, And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. But is there proof that Moses commanded a prostitute’s stoning? They did not bring the man; the law required both. There is a lot of hypocrisy here. Did they want her put to death by a commandment that condemned them, adultery? It could be. But the point is this: they were not without sin.
*] It was the custom for the oldest to cast the first stone…….but they left one by one.
*] Who then was left to execute Judgement? There was only =One, who is without sin…And that One is Jesus.
Jesus did not come to condemn: Joh 3:17-19 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. But there is something you must know: Because Christ came you are condemned, if you do not leave religion and believe on Christ and Christ alone .
