The word constraineth does not have the meaning of urging or driving, but more like shutting you up to one line of thought or one way. Several years ago, maybe 30-35 years ago, Dr. E.M Johnston gave me a couple of books by L.E. Maxwell. These books were old books from his library written many years earlier: One of the books was “Crowded to Christ.” I think that title defines the word, constraineth.  Paul was Crowded to Christ by the overwhelming love, Christ had for him.
