James 1:5-11

The early church was known as followers of the Way [ it seen in scripture as of that way, the way [Acts 9:2]. They met in homes … church buildings did not appear till much later. The synagogues the place of Jewish worship where people of the Way were excommunicated, if they spoke of Christ … And many were killed, e.g. Stephen , Paul, Peter, and other apostles.

So, they were scattered because of being hunted because of persecution. And they took the Gospel with them. It is not our Gospel, it is the Gospel of God and we are to share this message where ever we go, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
