John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

The Father gives you to Christ by His Spirit.  He makes one aware of their need, of their condition, of their sin; in short He gives you the desire to know Him, Ps 18:28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. It means God touches our spirit, Prov 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly: He makes our condition known to us by touching our spirit.  He accomplishes salvation in us by His Spirit, John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Our spirit is born of the Spirit (Holy Spirit).  Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

It is important that we admit that salvation is of the LORD and we cannot saved our self, Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. It is important that we admit our condition before Him, Ps 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.  Ps 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. “Contrite” means all your efforts to save your self have collapsed – you have come to the end.

What must I do to be saved cried the jailer, Acts 16:30-31 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. God gave His Son Jesus Christ to you as your Saviour, 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. God accepted the work of Christ as being sufficient for your sins, 1 Cor 15:3-4: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received , how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Will you come to Him as He hath said, as a sinner, and trust His Salvation as being sufficient for you.

Giving to the LORD PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor

God’s way of giving was introduced to the world 430 years before the law, Gal 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.  Abraham gave tithes long before the law, Gen 14:20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. He gave to the LORD because of the victory God hath given him.

Giving to the LORD has not changed; it is still the same for the Church today:  Giving is acknowledging a debt God paid for us that we could not pay our self.  Christ suffered the judgment of God for our sin, 1 Peter 2:24-25 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

The law is subject to Christ: the law gave tithes to the LORD, Heb 7:9-10  And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.  For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

The law cannot be use as a reason to not give first fruits to our LORD.  It would only be through a lack of knowledge that one would not give.  We give because we love Him: We love Him because gave Him self for us; we love Him because we know Him, 1 Peter 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious : but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

One cannot see His preciousness  from the outside:  there was a nine foot fence around the tabernacle so you could not see from the outside.  One had to enter by the sin offering: for Him to be precious you must believe Him as your Saviour, 1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

He receives sinful man: come as a sinner: if you come He will receive you for He paid your sin debt on the cross.

"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption, 1 Cor. 1:30

God is Calling You PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor

1 Peter 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:   You notice it is God who calls you to Himself.  Why: because He loves you and desires that you know Him and spend eternity in heaven.

When one is truly under conviction by the Holy Spirit, they stand before God broken, empty handed, without hope – stripped of all hope of righteousness: Owning our condition is good. Psalm 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.  Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Conviction is how God calls you out of darkness in to His light.

Standing before God declaring what one believes relying on self is quite different than standing before God with no hope, Luke 18:10-14  Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

As one admits their lost condition to God they then can look to Him for salvation,  Isa 45:22, Look unto me , and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Is Your Name Recorded In Heaven PDF Print E-mail

We believe that Jesus Christ established His Church during His ministry on earth and that it is a local, visible assembly of born-again,  believers meeting to together to worship God and carry out the commission of Our Lord Jesus Christ.  It is the Holy Spirit that binds together those He indwells.  It is His Spirit that signifies you as a child of God, Romans 8:9.  The indwelling Spirit is His seal of approval on your profession of faith.

You are  born again by the Spirit: John 3:6-7  “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

You are sealed by His Spirit: Ephesians  1:12-13  “That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”

You are placed in the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit: 1 Corinthians 12:13 “ For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit “

The Church is the Body of Christ:  Ephesians 1:22,23 “ And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,  Which is his body , the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”

This local, visible assembly of born again people have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, Revelation 21:27 “ And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.”

It is possible and does happen for people to be a member of a local assembly (have their name on a church roll) and not be saved. Therefore, their name is not in the Lamb’s book of life; they have not the Spirit of God; they have not been born by the Spirit and not sealed by the Spirit.

You can have your name recorded in Heaven and on a local church roll.  We have sinned and that sin is against God, Romans 3:23  “For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God;” It is impossible for us to pay that debt that our sin has incurred.  Only God could pay our debt and He did in Christ.  Gal 3:21-22 “ Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.”

"Where Will You Die" PDF Print E-mail

Revelation 14:13

Some years ago while living in South Carolina as I was filling my car with gas a car sled to the curb.  As we all ran to the car to offer our help the lady while clutching her chest said, “Please don’t let me die here on the roadside”.  She went on to say, “I don’t want to die here like this”.

There was a feeling of helplessness as I stood there: no way to know what was wrong, no power to control life and death.  As it turned out she did not die that day and I will never forget the feeling of helplessness.

Where will you die: On a roadside, in a hospital, in a nursing home, at home, in an accident?  You are saying there is no way to know and you are right.  You don’t know the physical place but we do control where we die,  Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

This verse gives some food for thought about where we die:

First, It is a blessing to die in the LORD. If you are to go to heaven you will need to die in the LORD.  Holy Spirit conviction is the power that opens our eyes to the gospel,  Eph 1:17 “ That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,”   Eph 1:18 “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,”

Our need is for our eyes of understanding to be open to the Truth of Christ: to the provision that God the Father has made for us in Christ.  It is Grace, the Gift of God.  However, you must know that truth to believe that truth, 1 Cor 1:18  “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

A Blessing because heaven – A home in heaven,  John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled : ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

A Blessing because of missing hell, Hell is what I deserve –  All of mankind deserves Hell:  “But God”

Eph 2:4-8 “But God , who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are saved...."

The Day Christ Died PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor
Thursday, 28 March 2013 18:54

In our life we celebrate many important days but none more important than the Day Christ Died.  It was a real day forever written in history:  A Precious Day!

All three days that Christ spent in the tomb (time before His Resurrection) were Holy Days or Sabbath Days:  The Passover Day, First Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, The Weekly Sabbath.

Passover Day Wednesday from 6 p to 6 p Thursday, First day of Feast of Unleavened Bread Thursday 6 p to 6p Friday, Weekly Sabbath Friday 6 p to Saturday 6 p.  First day of the week 6 p. Saturday to 6:p Sunday.  When they came to the tomb  as the day was breaking toward dawn He was already gone!

Exodus 12:3 tells us that the Perfect Lamb had to be chosen and then presented on the 10th day, Exodus 12:5.  The Lamb had to be chosen prior to killing it in order to have time to be sure it was without blemish.  Jesus Christ presented Himself to the nation of Israel on Palm Sunday, the 10th, Luke 19:44: “And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation .”

The Passover Lamb had to be killed at 3 p in order for the Passover meal to be prepared to be eaten at 6p   Christ died at 3 p on Wednesday Mark 15:34-37 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias. And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.  He died at 3 p in order for His body to be taken off the cross before dark and place in a tomb John 19: 31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away…..

41  Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

42  There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

The Passover Story in Exodus 12 is a fore shadow Of Christ Who is the Lamb of God, John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. He is our Passover, 1 Cor 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us.

There was no sign given except the sign of the Prophet Jonah, Matt 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Jonah walked a days’ journey into the city before he announced judgement.  A days’ journey would be about twelve hours; When dawn was breaking they found the grave empty that is about twelve hours from the beginning of Sunday (6 p on Saturday)

In Psalm 138:2,  I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.  The day Christ died for you was a real day in history and the work accomplished on that cross, in His death is just as real today as it was then.  Have you ever bowed your knee as a sinner to Him.  The day He died He included you in His death: Trust Him today as yours' John 1:11-12 He came unto his own , and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

The Day He Died is the day He died for you and paid your debt of sin.  The question to be answered: there must be a day when you received Him as your Saviour?
