Eph 1:3 - 7

It is the Grace of God and it is to us:

How do you define “grace”? The wonderful truth about this grace:  It is grace from God and it reaches us!  If you put a face on grace: It is the face of Christ.  God has dealt with us in grace through and by Christ.

His Grace made you accepted:

Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

His grace was evident long before the foundation of the world; long before we had opportunity to do good or bad.  Therefore, His blessing to us are purely of His grace. Eph 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: The only way to be holy and without blame is to be in Christ and in accordance with His Grace you were included in Christ by God, 1 Cor 1:30-31 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Grace is what God has declared to be true,

Titus 3:7-8 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. God has declared that you are cleared of all guilt: “justified by His grace” For Him to do this, declare you clear of all guilt there must be payment for your sin.  There is no way for us to pay the debt! What would we use for payment?  And to us, He did not even put a price! Isa 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price .

How was the payment made: by Christ

Titus 3:4-8 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

So what must I do to be saved?

Isa 55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Only Christ can satisfied that hunger and desire for forgiveness; to eat is something you must do for yourself! No one can eat for you: You must believe Christ for yourself.

God in His great love and mercy gave Christ to die for you.

In that death He (Christ) took your sin and made them His very own, 2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. God has declared that His death is sufficient for you,  Eph 1:6-8 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

God saved you in Christ more than two thousand ago at Calvary; He is not asking you to do anything but believe Him:

Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him (Christ); he (God) hath put him (Christ) to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. God made Christ sin for you: 2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. The Father saw His suffering and was satisfied with the payment of Christ: Isa 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

If God has accepted Christ as being a sufficient Saviour; why will you not believe in the same Saviour?

Why do the devils trembleh PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor

James 2:19  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble .

The Word of God speaks to people and address their belief in The One God as being a good thing, “thou doest well”. Belief in The One God is a cardinal doctrine of Christianity.

Please note:  There is nothing wrong with their believing.  The words “believe, and tremble” means they know.  They know: Who He (Christ) is and their end.  The word “Tremble” means to bristle as to your hair standing on end, in others words to shutter: knowing that one day they will stand before Him adds to their torment.  They are never referred to as Atheists – They know the truth about the LORD and they tremble at the prospect of meeting Him in judgment.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: So often in my life I have met people who  say they believe in God but yet never “tremble” but yet the devils have the same belief and they tremble. They have a greater respect of Christ than the world.

Because there is no redemption for angels: fallen angels, devils they (satan included) seeks to deceive man for whom God provided a way of salvation,

Heb 2:14-17 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death , that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

Man should fear and tremble at the prospect of meeting God

Heb 10:31  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Rev 20:10-15And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

You must believe more than the existence of the Truth

James 2:20ff But wilt thou know, O vain man , that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Vain means a position that cannot be defended: if you love your sin more than you love Christ, if your love for self keeps you from embracing Christ then you have a position that cannot be defended.

Vain also means empty as opposite of being full; Hands that have nothing in them, fruitless; a heart that is void of understanding; eyes that cannot see.

We are His Workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works

We do not need empty hands for we are his workmanship, Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. If God has ordained that we walk in them let us walk in them.

We do not need empty hearts but rather hearts that are full of the riches of Christ, Eph 1:18-23 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

James does not teach works verses grace. James is teaching that grace is real and powerful.  If you could put a face on grace, it would be the face of Christ.  Man is justified by His grace:  no demands has been place on mankind to earn that grace.  Titus 3:7-8  That being justified by his grace , we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me , all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Faith is Judging God Faithful Who has promised

James present the effect of being indwelt by Christ

James is presenting the reality of salvation

James is not teaching that works replaces faith.  Faith and works are never at odds.  Faith is an investment in Who you believe, 2 Tim 1:12  For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed , and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Faith is an investment in what you believe, Ex 14:15  And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

They had to go forward before the sea opened up: going forward would be a work.  They went forward with faith in God.  It was the power of God that opened the Red Sea , Ex. 14:16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

The rod represented God’s Power.

You must move forward trusting in the power of God, Eph 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Trusting in what God has promised, Isa 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Trusting the provision He has made for you in Christ, 2 Cor. 5:21

God extends an invitation to you and me to come because of Christ.

Remember heaven awaits the sinner!

Isaiah 41: 9-13

These verses have the same meaning and promise for the church.  I don’t think you could find a more powerful antidote for fear than Isaiah 41:10.  We all have this thing called fear, no one is exempt.  We live in body called the flesh but we are not to war after the flesh, 2 Cor. 10:3-5.

What is the fear that robs you of your energy, desire and peace.  What is this fear that keeps you upset and from being yourself.  Fear come to us in different forms and under many names.  It could be financial fears, health fears, family fears, fears from a past life, fears of a wrong decision you made, fears of what may happen, fears for your children, fears for your parents, fear of death.  It may be you are afraid to trust the LORD.  Most likely I have not even touched on your fear or it may be you have a feeling of fear and don’t know why!

In Isaiah 41:10  Fear thou not ; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

HE said five times I will help you:  Isa 41:10  (1). Fear thou not; for I am with thee: (2). be not dismayed; -means: bewildered-  for I am thy God: (3). I will strengthen thee; (4). yea, I will help thee; (5). yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

He understands: He is our creator He came into our world and became like us

Hebrews 2: 14-18  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Therefore He knows how we feel

Hebrews 4:15,16. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We worship a person: Christ the Son of God

Fear thou not ; for I am with thee - Consider what His presence means: Romans 8:31, 35,38-39. Psa. 91:1-2;9-12;14-16.  He is interested in your need of Him: Psalm 51:17.

Be not dismayed; -means: bewildered-  for I am thy God. That is His statement! It is important you recognize this statement of His Word.  You are not required to see the end for HE is with you. You do not need to answer the What if!  Psalm 119:42;49;93.  He is your protection, Isaiah 58:8.

I will strengthen thee; 1Peter 1:8, 2 Tim. 1:12.   It is the Lord who helps you

Eph 3:16-21  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man ;That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

. yea, I will help thee; That is His promise to you.  It is not some form or religious activity, Isaiah1:9-  It is you believing Him.

. yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. That speaks of His power and faithfulness

Worship without obedience is sickening to Him, Isaiah 1:13.

How will He accept you: only as a sinner.  Come as a sinner, you see there is joy in heaven over one sinner Luke 15:4-7

4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Salvation is not a prayer we pray nor is it a commitment we make; salvation is a person we meet and His name is Jesus.  Do you know Him?

Take heed lest you fall PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor

Prov. 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

From the world, your flesh and from your enemy, satan, you hear a message of all is well, don’t worry, you have plenty of time, you are not too bad, a loving God won’t send you to hell, don’t be a fanatic.

Consider This

After striking an iceberg the owner of the Titanic said, “don’t worry” the ship is unsinkable and at that very moment the ship was taking on tons of water.  Even after the Titanic was at the bottom of the oceans for over twenty four hours with over 1,500 people dead a news paper reported “All Titanic passengers are safe”, telegrams said, “The Virginian is towing the Titanic into harbor, a complete denial of reality.  The very same thing is taking place in war for your soul and life.  There was no preparation for the future because they assumed they were unsinkable.

Because of Pride they consider the ship unsinkable and therefore no preparation

1. There were not enough life boats because it was unsinkable.

2. Because of maritime law there was no one to receive a distress call.

3. There were no red flares to signal for an emergency – no need to have them the ship was unsinkable.  With one red flare the, the California was less than ten miles away could have responded and saved 1,522 people.

4. There were no binoculars.  With one pair of binoculars they could have seen the iceberg and steered away.

5. The rope was too short.  Ships are supposed to measure the water temperature in this part of the ocean.  The temperature would indicate if a possible iceberg was near.  A Senate hearing found the rope was too short to reach the water because this was the largest ship in the world and  that had not been taken into account. The rope was not long enough.

6. No one cared:  The man in charge of reading the temperature, when he discovered the rope was too short, fills the canvas bag with drinking water and turned in a false report.  There was no one to sound an alarm.

Don’t make the same mistake

The world, the flesh and satan says, “Don’t worry; you have plenty of time your ship is unsinkable but sin will sink you.  "But God"  in the person of His Son took your sin and in doing so paid your sin debt, 2 Corinthians "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." Only your pride and a haughty spirit will keep you from being ready.

The Word of God says, “Prepare to meet thy God”

How to prepare Isaiah 1:18, Isaiah 53:1-7, Romans 4:1-25.

Tempt not the LORD PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor
Wednesday, 05 June 2013 22:24

1 Corinthians 10:1-7

Blessed is the Nation who’s God is the LORD and blessed is family whose God is the LORD and blessed is the individual who’s God is the LORD.  Sad to say He is not the LORD God of our nation and I dare say that the majority of people recognize Him in only name.

There is much discussion as to where the U.S. is in prophecy – If we are referred to; we are no longer a nation of righteousness.  In the Tribulation we are no longer a friend to Israel for the Bible says, “All Nations are against Israel.

What happen to the Nation that once was so blessed of God? We are here, today because we turned from the LORD.

Deut 28:44-47

44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

Notice the next verse:

Deut 28:48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

We have shut Him out of our government: our government does not acknowledge Christ

We are shutting Him out of our military: (articles provided)

We have shut Him out of His Church, Rev. 3:20  Behold , I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

He is being replaced with another god which is not another.

We have the government that we chose: we voted for goverment hand outs rather than following biblical guidelines, we voted for large labour unions (who are lining their pockets) rather than trusting the LORD for jobs. We voted for personal freedom without personal responsibility. The voting of America reflected a lack of concern for the Word of God.

Warning Signs:  You would be close to blind to miss these signs.

We are suffering from those decision now and we see trouble coming from so many directions.  It is wrong to say God’s judgment – It is rather a truth which has been since from the beginning – Mankind cannot live a fruitful life without God being the LORD. Deut 8:18-9:1

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth , that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.

There is a Moral crisis: Most of the idols in high places in the Old Testament, such as references to “groves” are referencing immorality. This growing acceptance of lowering our standards is in every level of society and they who promote such count on the lack of concern from the ChurchI   Summertime is coming and with that comes wearing as little clothes as possible! And what is the answer you hear?  The same answer that has been since the Garden:  What have I done?  There is nothing wrong with this!  Well there was, God clothed Adam and Eve His self.  The problem is pride, stubbornness, and independence.  They are not virtues:  They are sin.  Why sacrifice your future on the altar of sin: pride, stubbornness and independence:

Pride,  Prov 16:18-19 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Stubbornness, 1 Sam 15:23  For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft , and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Independence:  Dan 4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.  Every one answers to some one –  Every knee and every heart will bow:  Rom 14:11-12  For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

The Truth of God’s Word is being Compromised Every Day

“Lust after Evil Things”, 1 Cor. 10:6.  When Christ is left out of your decision making then things become evil, Colossians 1:18.  When God is left out of a Nation then that Nation’s freedoms’ are gone.  Immorality is ruling our nation today.  The physical attraction of male and female is created by God and therefore is not sin.  The reason being He set the boundaries and that being marriage.

God established Marriage – Which is the establishment of the Home:  Matt 19:4-5 “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?” He created male and female ultimately to populate the earth, Genesis 1:27, 28.

The LORD made a help meet for Adam, (Read Genesis 2: 18-25) Point: God did not make another man –He made woman. He could have made another man and Adam would have still been alone – It took the making of a female for man to not be alone.

Help meet for him” has a meaning of the other side, before him- one who could reciprocate his feelings and stand before not in any way inferior to him.  She is everything man is not – All of those things were left out by God when He created man.

Genesis 2:18-25 is the making of the woman and the institution of marriage.  Eve as Adam named her is the “Mother of all Living”

“She shall be called Woman”= female.
