"In Christ" is one of Paul's favorite expressions; it found several times in the bible.  But what does it mean for mankind? It means you have been reconciled.  God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Him, 2Co_5:19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. It means you were included in all that Christ accomplished in His work of Redemption, 1Co_1:30  But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: None of us deserve so great a salvation!  We are not in Christ because of anything we have done or not done but only by His grace.

Every one of us is included in the great work of Christ and you are to rest your faith in the person of that work.  1Jn 5:11  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He is the Alpha and the Omega of our faith.  Rev_22:13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. He is the foundation for all of your life.
